Sara Dos Santos was awarded The Neriah Kumah Legacy Award supported by One Dance UK in May 2016. This to award supported her 2016 international exchange project working with four Brazilian outstanding dance organisations and professional companies. This unique opportunity enabled Sara to deepen her knowledge of Afro Brazilian techniques, share personal movement methodologies with artists and research local stories of women aged 16-25

Port - Portugal 2018

Sara Dos Santos is 1 of 12 British Council - IETM Porto Bursary Winners. 

IETM (Informal European Theatre Meeting) is a network of over five hundred performing arts organisations and individuals working in contemporary performance in Europe and all over the world. With this opportunity

Sara will continue researching her new piece Journey's as well as continue building international partnerships.

 

Scotland (UK) 2017

Sara was one of eight artists as part of the British Council's Artist Development Programme as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017. The program allowed Sara to expand her artistic practice, meet international funders, promoters and artists and continue building international partnerships as she delves more deeply into working internationally.

Brazil 2013

In 2013 Sara organised and directed an international trip to Brazil delivering dance classes and creative rehabilitation workshops within a safe-house in partnership with Meninadanca. Along with two other professional artists, they worked

with 50 girls aged between 10-17years and independently raised over £6,000 engaging 

with audiences through various fundraising events.

 

 

Cuba 2012

Sara had the privilege of training on the Cuba Danza programme hosted by Danza Contemporanea de Cuba in 2012. This opportunity also led her to work with Danza del Caribe in Santiago Cuba. 

 

 

New York 2010

Sara had the unique to train with The Alvin Ailey school on their professional division programme in 2010. She learnt from astonishing international teachers.
